Another double-digit lead. Another fourth-quarter collapse.

Memphis led comfortably late against New Orleans, then watched the game flip as turnovers piled up, defensive breakdowns mounted, and the offense stalled down the stretch. It marked the 12th time this season the Grizzlies have blown a double-digit lead — the most in the league — and came against a Pelicans team sitting at the bottom of the West.

Fans have been quick to weigh in. Some are pointing to youth and inexperience, others to injuries and the lack of late-game shot creation without Ja Morant, and plenty are questioning why these same issues keep resurfacing in the fourth quarter. There’s also growing frustration that strong three-quarter performances continue to end the same way.

So what’s the real issue here?

Is it execution? Coaching adjustments? Roster construction? Or is this simply the reality of a shorthanded, developing team learning painful lessons in real time?
