Another tough one at FedExForum.

Memphis fell behind by as many as 16 in the first quarter, fought all the way back to briefly take the lead in the second, then watched Charlotte reassert control after halftime. The Hornets never trailed in the second half and pulled away late, sending the Grizzlies to a fourth straight loss.

Jaren Jackson Jr. was the story early. He had 22 points at halftime and finished with 26, but Charlotte’s adjustments limited his impact after the break. With the offense bogging down in the second half, it raised some familiar questions about where consistent scoring is supposed to come from right now.

Rebounding also loomed large. Moussa Diabate’s 20-rebound night tilted the game, especially during stretches when Memphis needed stops to build momentum. Too many second chances for Charlotte, not enough for the Grizzlies.

Charlotte’s young core looked confident and composed. Brandon Miller set the tone early and finished with 26, while Miles Bridges and LaMelo Ball kept pressure on the defense all night. Once the Hornets found their rhythm again, Memphis never really threatened late.

With the Grizzlies now 18-27 and still without Ja Morant, the margin for error feels razor thin.

So let’s hear it:

– Are the slow starts becoming the biggest issue, or is the second-half execution more concerning? – How much of this comes down to rebounding and physicality versus shot-making? – What adjustments do you want to see heading into the Pelicans game? – Is there anything from this loss you actually found encouraging?
