The NBA stepped in and shut down the Atlanta Hawks' planned "Magic City Monday" promotional night scheduled for March 16 against the Orlando Magic. Commissioner Adam Silver cited concerns from fans, partners and employees in his statement announcing the decision.
The Hawks said they were disappointed but will respect the call. T.I. is still performing at halftime, the lemon pepper wings are still on the menu, and the game is still happening — but the full Magic City experience is off the table.
Was the NBA right to cancel it, or did the Hawks deserve to see it through?
