The Giannis-to-Atlanta noise isn’t going away, and with Bill Simmons floating a megadeal built around Trae Young, it’s fair to ask a real question:

Should the Hawks actually push all their chips in for Giannis Antetokounmpo?

Atlanta has been impressive without Young this season, leaning on Jalen Johnson’s breakout and a deeper, more balanced roster. That’s the exact type of foundation teams need before making a superstar gamble. If you add Giannis — a two-time MVP still putting up monstrous numbers — the ceiling changes instantly from “frisky playoff team” to “legitimate Finals threat.”

But the cost would be enormous. Trae Young. Multiple first-round picks. Potential rotation pieces. Long-term financial flexibility. Everything. You don’t get Giannis without emptying the vault.

The question is whether that kind of move accelerates the timeline or strips the roster too thin to support a championship window.

Pairing Giannis with Johnson would give Atlanta one of the most explosive two-way forward duos in the league. It also signals to the rest of the NBA that the Hawks are serious about taking a swing while the East is wide open behind Boston.

So what’s the right move? Should Atlanta stay patient with its young core — or go all-in for one of the most dominant players of this generation?

    Let the debate begin.
