Bam Adebayo's Sudden Three-Point Increase

Heat center Bam Adebayo's offense has seen tremendous growth in one area: three-point volume. Adebayo took 0.2 threes per game in the first seven years of his career, but has increased recently. He averaged 2.8 threes last season and is attempting 7.2 threes this season. It's just over a 2.5% increase. Adebayo is nailing these threes at a 36.1% clip, slightly below this season's average of 37.1%.

How does an increased three-point shooting volume add to Adebayo's skill set?
