Who wins the Play-In series?

The No. 8 seed Miami Heat (25-23) are getting ready to play three games in four days against the No. 10 seed Chicago Bulls (23-24), and it honestly feels like the Play-In Invitational.

Both teams have been stuck in the Eastern Conference Play-In Tournament for the last three years — only the Hawks (4) have longer ongoing streaks.

So much of the Bulls' season has been predicated on what happened in last year's Play-In loss to Miami. At the preseason Media Day, Bulls coaches, players and management frequently spoke about how much more physical the Heat were in that game and how it made them approach the offseason entirely differently. They also really emphasized how that loss made them want to adopt a defensive-centered identity.

Has that paid off? Not really. But it's clear how much that game has stuck in their minds over the last year-ish.

In their lone meeting this season, Miami had a dominant 143-107 win in Chicago. With three games coming up in the next four days, I'm really interested to see the adjustments made and if the energy carries between the games like a playoff series would.
