Sunday afternoon the Miami HEAT faced the Philadelphia 76ers in Philly for a matinee day game. This was the end of a quick 2 game road trip for Miami who were on a 3 game win streak.

The 1st quarter started & both teams were playing physical with each other.

The HEAT were feeding off of Norm Powell’s great start. He had 10 of the HEAT’s first 16 points which gets Miami going. When the HEAT play good basketball, they get everyone involved.

At the end of the first quarter the HEAT led

37 to 27.

In the 2Q it was noticeable with how well the HEAT were playing, Philadelphia was hanging around. And then the 76ers go on a 16-0 run to tie the game at 49. Immediately Norm Powell answered that run to put the HEAT in front again.

It turned out to be a competitive first half for both teams. Miami went up 16 in the second period, fell victim to barrage of 76ers 3-pointers, and lead 71-67 at the half. Norman Powell had 23 points for the HEAT. These 70-point first halves are almost quite mundane at this stage.

To start the second half, the HEAT scored the first 9 points of the 3Q.

The 76ers kept it close but the HEAT were pacing the game on both ends.

At the end of the third quarter the HEAT led

99 to 93.

In the fourth quarter it looked like Heat turnovers were allowing the Sixers to get back in the game briefly. Philadelphia was trying to mount a late comeback. Miami got back to playing their brand of basketball, getting it done on both ends & the 76ers comeback stalled. The HEAT took care of rebounds & physicality in this matchup.
