The guard depth is being tested
Dennis Schroder sat Friday with left thigh soreness, and the response was recalling Christian Anderson Jr. from the Greensboro Swarm. That is where the guard depth chart is right now. Coby White is on a minutes restriction, Schroder is banged up, and a G League recall is the next man up. How worried should we be about the backcourt holding up?

The waiting game on Brandon Miller
Charles Lee said further evaluation is coming on Brandon Miller's groin, and honestly, the whole season feels like it is holding its breath. Six straight losses, and the one guy who can bend a defense has played 14 minutes since. Best case, he misses a couple of games. Worst case, does not bear thinking about. What does this team even look like if he is out a while?

The veterans were supposed to steady this group
With the young core in and out of the lineup, the logic was that the veterans would hold things together. Then Friday happened: Coby White 1 of 8, Grayson Allen 0 of 5, Royce O'Neale 2 of 6, and 29 percent shooting as a team. Hard to evaluate anything when the steady hands go cold too. Do the vets deserve some slack here, or is this exactly what they were brought in to prevent?

Ryan Kalkbrenner attempted one shot on Friday
One stat from Friday that stuck with me. Ryan Kalkbrenner played 21 minutes against the Celtics and attempted exactly one shot. With the roster this short-handed, the starting center cannot be a spectator on offense. Is that on him for not demanding touches, or on the guards for never looking his way?

Cavaliers come to town on Monday
Quick lookahead. Cleveland visits Spectrum Center on Monday, and both teams are limping into it. The Cavs just played the Knicks without Jarrett Allen, and the Hornets are trying to snap a six-game skid while waiting on Brandon Miller's evaluation. Winnable game on paper, or is that the injuries talking?

Hornets-Lakers on November 17 moved to Peacock
Schedule note for later this month. The NBA moved Hornets-Lakers to Peacock on November 17 for an 11 PM ET tip, pushed back from the original 10 PM start on DAZN and TV64. A late one for East Coast fans, but another national window for this group. Who is staying up for it?

Hannes Steinbach's first real NBA run
Hannes Steinbach got his first extended NBA minutes on Friday and said battling Ryan Kalkbrenner, Moussa Diabate and Naz Reid in practice every day got him ready for the physicality. Eleven boards and three blocks in 27 minutes backs it up.Is he earning a permanent spot in this rotation?

Charles Lee thinks this group is on the verge of a breakthrough
After a 39-point home loss and six straight, Charles Lee pointed to the group that finished the game still picking up full court and said he knows this team is on the verge of a breakthrough. Do you buy that, or is it coach speak during a free fall?

Charles Lee says keep shooting the threes
After an 11-of-50 night from deep, Charles Lee was asked if there is a point where he tells the guys to calm down on the threes. His answer was no, the goal is still to create advantages and find the best uncontested shot.Stick with the philosophy and trust the math, or does somebody need to call the shots off at some point?

Brandon Miller's efficiency problem
Brandon Miller is averaging 22 a night, which looks great until you see the 36% from the field and 27% from three. With the roster this thin, someone has to shoot, and now he is out with the groin on top of it.Is the volume actually helping Charlotte, or just inflating the box score?

Should the Hornets be more careful with Coby White?
James Plowright argued that Coby White's return should be approached with caution given his recent injury history. White is still on a minutes restriction while the roster keeps losing bodies around him, and he only got 16 minutes on Friday. Ride him harder to stop the skid, or protect him for the long haul?

The Hornets are 0-6 since the Naz Reid benching
Say what you want about coincidence, but Charlotte has not won a game since Charles Lee benched Naz Reid against Detroit for not meeting team standards. Reid had 14 off the bench on Friday and the team still lost by 39.Culture setting that costs you games in the short term, or is this skid really just the injuries?

Is it time to hit the panic button?
Rod Boone asked the question out loud after the injuries kept mounting, and honestly it is fair. Six straight losses, Brandon Miller waiting on an evaluation, Kon Knueppel back on the shelf. That 3-1 start feels like a long time ago.Panic, or patience with a roster this banged up?https://x.com/rodboone/status/2119068587126112685

The Swarm raised their championship banner last night
Something positive for the organization this weekend. The Greensboro Swarm raised their 2025-26 G League championship banner on opening night, and the pipeline to Charlotte keeps churning with guys like Hannes Steinbach bouncing between the two rosters. Anyone catch a Swarm game yet this season?

0-2 in the NBA Cup already, so now what?
Two Cup games, two ugly losses, and group play is basically done for Charlotte already. Honest question though. Does anyone actually care about the NBA Cup, or is just getting healthy the only real goal right now?

The Swarm call-ups actually got real minutes last night
With the roster gutted, guys like Hannes Steinbach and Christian Anderson Jr. got actual run against Boston. Lee has been talking up Steinbach lately, too. Is anyone from this group earning a longer look once the rotation gets healthy?
