As the Feb. 5 trade deadline nears, the Sacramento Kings have been continuously thrown into the Ja Morant trade sweepstakes after the Memphis Grizzlies began to take phone calls on the 2-time All-Star despite it not being an ideal fit.

SacTown Sports radio host Carmichael Dave shared the same sentiments while reporting the latest on the Kings' potential interest via X on Tuesday night, revealing that the Kings' real interest might not be at its perceived level.

"As always, 'never say never'……but based on what Memphis is looking for (draft capital, young players), that’s not realistic for Sacramento," Dave wrote.

"The 'Kings are interested' isn’t coming from the Kings camp, and there have been zero conversations on it."
