Obviously it's a big local story in Sacramento with Hornets football elevating to a higher playing field. Plus past Kings great Mike Bibby is on the Sacramento State campus in leading Hornets basketball. 

However, the Hornets' move to the Mid-American Conference (MAC) revealed Saturday is for football only. Bibby and the Hornets will move out of the Big Sky in this move, though. 

The Sacramento star from the early 2000s will lead his teams against the Big West after this season. That means the Hornets become future conference rivals with UC Davis again. 

But also awaiting them will be Big West powers UC Santa Barbara, UC Irvine, Hawai'i, etc.
