It’s getting ugly fast. The Mavericks fall to 2–7 after a 118–104 loss to the Grizzlies, and it honestly wasn’t even that close. Memphis led by 35 at one point.
Ja Morant and rookie Cedric Coward both dropped 21. Dallas had no answers, no energy, and no identity. Max Christie led the Mavs with 18 points, P.J. Washington had 14, and Moussa Cissé — yes, the two-way guy — was one of the few who actually showed some fight.
Jason Kidd said the team “has to start with that same energy” the bench brought in the fourth. Christie flat-out admitted, “We had no energy at all… no one’s coming to save us.”
This is now four straight losses, and the Mavericks are dead last in the West. Anthony Davis, Kyrie Irving, and Dereck Lively II are still out, and the offense looks completely broken.
So… where do you even start with this?
Let it fly below.
