Despite the Brooklyn Nets' 118-98 defeat against the Orlando Magic on Thursday night, the franchise took away a major silver lining from the bout -- Egor Dëmin is the real deal.

The Nets' rookie guard scored a career-best 26 points on 8-for-12 shooting from the field and connected on six of his 10 attempts from three-point range, but it was easy to tell that he'd have loved his career night to be topped off with a win.

Post-game, Dëmin shared his thoughts on the contest with media members Thursday night, citing the need for consistency from the entire team from start to finish.

"We have to win more than just one quarter," Dëmin said.

"We've got to win against the main roster of the (opposing) team...the main players. Starting from the very beginning of the game and trying to compete and maintain...staying close to them. Even if it's not going our way."

Dëmin's lights-out shooting and offensive feel were off the charts against the Magic, but his competitive drive is just another thing that Nets fans can be excited about moving forward in what's been a disastrous 2025-26 campaign.
