
The Brooklyn Nets -- then known as the New York Nets in the ABA -- won the final ABA championship in 1976. They defeated the Denver Nuggets in six games, capturing their second title in three seasons.
Brooklyn won its first title in 1974, defeating the Utah Stars in five games. The team merged with the NBA after 1976 and have returned to the finals once in franchise history -- 2001 against the Los Angeles Lakers.
