After joining the Brooklyn Nets via trade from the Boston Celtics prior to the Feb. 5 trade deadline, forward Josh Minott finds himself in a vastly different situation.
The 23-year-old versatile wing went from playing a decent role as a member of the Eastern Conference's No. 2 seed to a rotational piece of the No. 14 seeded Nets. After the deal took place, Minott was asked by the Nets Wire's Sharif Phillips-Keaton about his approach to joining a tanking/rebuilding squad.
"I feel like just no matter where I went, I would have the same approach," Minott shared Saturday.
"It's just a matter of learning the team and the guys."
In 33 appearances for Boston this season, Minott put together a fabulous statline in 15.9 minutes. The 6-foot-8 combo forward contributed career-bests in every major category, averaging 5.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 0.7 steals while knocking down a blistering 44.2% of his 2.3 attempts from three-point range.
As he starts to become more acclimated to his new surroundings, the Nets could be hopeful that they've found another worthwhile prospect to develop.
