The Brooklyn Nets opted to decline a second 10-day contract for Grant Nelson, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reported Monday.

It's still a stunning move considering how Nelson started to fit right into the youth movement inside the building. 

The former North Dakota State/Alabama star even dropped 11 points against the Cleveland Cavaliers despite losing 106-102. His head coach Jordi Fernandez even called Nelson "a really good basketball player" with reporters over the weekend. 

This could mean a return to the Long Island Nets for Nelson.
