Ebuka Okorie’s role

Usually Detroit Pistons head coach J.B. Bickerstaff waits a little bit for his rookies to feel comfortable before throwing them into the regular rotation, but Ebuka Okorie seems to have the right makeup to accelerate that process.

What do you think his minutes will look like in the 1st half of the season vs the 2nd half? Daniss Jenkins probably starts off as the backup, but there’s no telling how long that lasts for.

Regular season approaching

Now that we’re single-digit days away from the return of regular season Detroit Pistons basketball, what are you most keyed in on entering the season?

Did the Pistons add enough shooting during the summer to correct their lack of floor spacing last year? Detroit got younger during the summer, but will they miss that experience when the postseason rolls around after Tobias Harris’ strong round one performance against the Magic?

Pistons training camp questions

There could be a position battle brewing between Daniss Jenkins, Ebuka Okorie and Elijah Harkless for the backup point guard spot behind Cade Cunningham once training camp kicks off. Apart from that, the second-strong power forward spot could effectively be up for grabs as well, so there’s a few potential contests that will be intriguing to watch as several players bed in during their first season with the Pistons.

What will you be playing the closest attention to during training camp?

New uniform thoughts?

After seeing the new Nike Specter Edition uniforms for the Detroit Pistons, what do you think? The Pistons were one of eight teams that were part of Nike’s uniform rollout, and that was by design given Detroit’s longstanding history as a major organization in the NBA’s history. So, the Pistons dropped a flames-inspired jersey with a few subtle details, such as the player’s nameplate under their number on the back of the jersey for the first time in team history.

Detroit Pistons pre-season

The NBA preseason schedule is officially out and the Detroit Pistons have zero nationally televised games. The Orlando Magic and Cleveland Cavs will be on national tv twice (against each other in both circumstances).

Pistons 2026-27 ceiling and floor

After the Detroit Pistons racked up 60 regular season wins last year, the Eastern Conference is going to be tough since a handful of teams restocked and reorganized over the offseason. Even the Central Division will be a tough battle for Detroit with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Indiana Pacers both looking strong, so it’s hard to say if the Pistons will match that same 60-win mark.

Personally, I’ve got Detroit pencilled in for about 54 wins as it stands right now. Of course, health could factor into the equation, and it’s impossible to know which teams will make big moves at the Trade Deadline, but this feels like a mid-50s win team right now. What do you think is a best case scenario for the Pistons? And what would a code red season look like on the negative side of things?

Which offseason departure will you miss most?

During the summer, the Detroit Pistons parted ways with Tobias Harris, Caris LeVert, Marcus Sasser and Isaiah Stewart, and they each played a (different) key role on the squad last season. Beef Stew was the longest tenured Piston on the team, but Tobias was in his second stint with the squad as well and the other two guards developed a respectable amount of fanfare for their own Motown contributions.

Now that they’re no longer part of the organization, which player are you going to miss the most?

New uniforms incoming?

Earlier today, the Detroit Pistons were one of several teams across the league to post a quick screen-grab of their logo with a faded filter, and the word on the street is that it was designed to foreshadow a new uniform drop for several teams in the middle of next month. Some have theorized that the new uniforms will be worn for the NBA Cup contests since the league is prioritizing those matchups more than ever, but official word on that note still remains to be seen.

Detroit Pistons NBA Cup reactions

Now that it’s been announced that the Detroit Pistons will be in the Eastern Conference’s Group A for the NBA Cup alongside the Toronto Raptors, Orlando Magic, Milwaukee Bucks and Brooklyn Nets, which of those games are you the most excited for? Only the Pistons / Raptors game is set to be nationally televised on Peacock by the way.
