The NBA's trade deadline is coming up, so we are bound to stumble across a ton of potential deals for the Pistons to make, but not all trade proposals are created equally. In a recent trade that was parried around by ESPN, the Pistons would receive Gary Harris and cash considerations in a three-team deal. Essentially, the Pistons would take on Harris' contract and would be compensated for the service, but Detroit would not be required to unload much-- if anything-- in return.
Right now, the Pistons are flooded with depth, especially at the guard position, so the deal does not make much sense from Detroit's perspective. Instead, the Pistons are in a better position to trade some of their guard depth (and possibly draft picks) to another squad in exchange for an impact perimeter shooter to help Detroit spread the floor.
