Right now, the Pistons are stocked with options, and it's always good to have plenty of options heading into the NBA Trade Deadline. With roughly three weeks until the deadline arrives, the Pistons have a fleet of talented players on the bench that could feature in a potential trade package. On top of that, Detroit owns all of their own draft picks in the future, and the organization has a TPE worth over $10 million as well, so Pistons President of Basketball Operations Trajan Langdon has some room to pivot.
But in which direction should he go?
Michael Porter Jr. has been a popular candidate to wind up in Motown given his scoring profile and his ability to take some offensive responsibility off of Cade Cunningham's shoulders. More recently, Collin Sexton has emerged as an attractive option that would fill a couple real needs on Detroit's squad, such as perimeter shooting. The Trey Murphy move has always stood as more of a long shot given the value that he could continue to provide for his team in both the short and long-term, but there is no doubt that he would fit well on the Pistons. And finally, Mathurin is an option that would not move the needle as much but could be the low-profile, high-efficiency move that Detroit needs down the stretch.
Langdon has a few weeks to figure out what direction he wants to send the Pistons in and whether Jaden Ivey will remain in Motown after the trade deadline passes.
What would you do?
