After the Pistons' 11-point loss to the Toronto Raptor on Sunday, Detroit head coach J.B. Bickerstaff took some time to give Kevin Huerter his flowers considering how well the new trade acquisition has played over the past couple weeks. Against Toronto, Huerter was the first player off the bench for the Pistons in the first quarter, and the veteran finished with three points, one rebound, one assist and one steal, but that stat line doesn't reflect how Huerter served as a connective entity for Detroit against the Raptors.

“We’ve got to give him an opportunity," Bickerstaff said. "He’s a really good basketball player who can fit with this group and help this group, we’ve just gotta find him opportunities to do it. Its not always going to be easy because we have so many guys who can help us who are at that kind of wing position, so we’ve just to go make sure that we give him chances. But his ability to playmake, attack the rim, make shots, be heady defensively I think can help us.”

As a whole, Huerter has looked comfortable on-ball from the wing, and most importantly he looks like a player who takes care of the rock. The Pistons will be playing meaningful basketball a month from now, and Detroit is looking for sharp-shooting secondary playmakers who can be trusted to avoid turnovers even when the defense tightens up during the playoffs.

What have you thought of Huerter's performance for the Pistons since arriving mid-season from Chicago?
