Over the course of the season, Duncan Robinson has almost single handedly carried the Pistons into a perimeter shooting territory that still does not quite qualify as respectable, but Detroit would certainly rank even lower when it comes to shooting three-pointers without Robinson.

This year, Robinson is converting just under three triples per game while shooting 39.3% from behind the arc, well above league average. Based on that performance, Robinson's three-point prowess is no secret, and a stat that was recently posted on X highlights a specific type of long-range shot that Robinson is selecting more than virtually any other player in the NBA.

Trailing only James Harden and Michael Porter Jr., who has been involved in trade rumors with the Pistons recently, Robinson takes the third-most tightly contested shots from outside. On shots of that variety, Robinson is shooting 37% with a defender in his face, which is almost two-percent below his normal rate.
