Victor Wembanyama Makes It Clear That He Wants It All

In a post-game interview, Victor Wembanyama made it clear that he is chasing the best win total for the Spurs, as well as chasing Defensive Player of the Year (DPOY) and Most Valuable Player (MVP) honors.

DPOY is Wemby’s to lose, granted he plays the 65 games required to be eligible. But how close is Victor to stealing away the MVP title from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander?

SGA just passed Wilt for most consecutive games with 20 points. However, you could argue Wembanyama is more important to his team’s success than SGA is to the Thunder.

If the Spurs surpass Oklahoma City for the #1 seed, I believe Wembanyama will be crowned MVP.

Outside of the MVP race, you’ve got to think Spurs’ head coach, Mitch Johnson, is likely to win Coach of the Year honors — going 2-0 against his closest competitor, Pistons head coach, J.B. Bickerstaff.

Go Spurs Go!
