For the first time in his career, Cason Wallace earned Western Conference Defensive Player of the Month honors for October and November. A major part of the case for Caso to win this award was his eye-popping steals numbers.
As of today, Cason is leading the NBA in steals per game at 2.2 a night. This is where Thunder history comes into the conversation, where only Paul George in 2018-2019 has averaged as many steals a night as Cason is doing this season.
Only Shai Gilgeous-Alexander in 2023-2024, Paul George in 2017-2018 and 2018-2019, and Russell Westbrook in 2015-20162014-2015 and 2015-2016 have averaged at least 2 steals a game for the Oklahoma City Thunder for an entire season. (minimum 20 games played)
Cason is on pace to tie PG13's current franchise record for the reigning season average, but that title looks up for grabs if Caso wants it.
