Do today's NBA rookie extensions mean anything for Cason Wallace's next deal?

Today Shams Charania broke the news on two rookie contract extensions.

First up, Keyonte George inked a 5-year, $157.5 million deal to stay with the Jazz, and Ausar Thompson signed a 5-year, $155 million contract with the Pistons.

The question is whether those extensions could be informative, as the Thunder likely try to re-sign Cason Wallace to a new extension before the start of the 2026-2027 season.

Specifically, Thompson interests me in relation to Cason as another All-Defensive team member who could still use some work on the offensive end, even if Caso is leaps and bounds a better shooter than Ausar.

Who knows if it will be a 4 or 5-year deal, but if the Thunder and Cason do agree to an extension, it is looking like, based on the market and most recent rookie extensions, that deal is probably going to be around $30 million annually.
