On October 30th, 2025, Sam Presti made a rare appearance at Thunder practice and broke the news that Nikola Topić was dealing with testicular cancer.

Fast-forward to January 12th, 2026, when Topić gave an update on his Instagram account that he was back on the floor again after his agent Miško Ražnatović broke the news a few days prior that Topić had completed his chemotherapy and would be able to return this season.

Tonight, Topić made that return for the Thunder's G-League affiliate, the OKC Blue, as they took on the Sioux Falls Skyforce.

In 16 minutes in his on-court return to play, Topić tallied seven points and seven assists on a night that had to be special for him to get back out on the floor after all he had overcome to start this season, and going back to his rookie year, which he missed all of due to a torn ACL.
