Last night, after the Thunder's OT win over the Jazz, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander discussed what it was like winning Sports Illustrated's Sportsperson of the Year award. SGA made a quick trip to Vegas on the Thunder's off day on Tuesday and raved about the honor and experience.
“It was great, it was fun. It was a pretty quick trip; I was in and out, but it was great. It was fun to be in a room with so many influential, great, and inspiring people. Michael Phelps' speech really stood out to me. He was impressive, but yeah, it was fun, it was an honor, obviously. That award is not taken lightly. Usually, I don't travel like that in between games, but it was definitely worth it."
