The NBA informs teams of the 2027-2028 cap projections

Fred Katz of The Athletic recently reported that the NBA has informed its 30 teams of their salary cap projections not for this season, but for the following year and the 2027-2028 season.

The new projections put the cap $2 million higher than last year, with the salary cap rising to $176 million and the luxury tax line at $213 million.

$2 million for any one of us regular people is life-changing money, but in the grand scheme of things, it isn't a massive amount compared to the total salary cap of NBA teams.

But it certainly can't hurt to add some extra cash to the pot if you are the Thunder and have contract extensions you are hoping to get done over the next year for guys like Cason Wallace and Ajay Mitchell.
