Seemingly, after every Thunder loss, there is some sort of panic every time that happens. Probably because of how far and few those losses have been over the past two to three seasons.

But with nine games to go in this year's regular season, OKC's lead ahead of the Spurs for home court in the West continues to get slimmer.

The good news is that the defending champs still control their own destiny to finish the season. Even if San Antonio were to finish the year undefeated, the Thunder still has a one-game margin for error.

Sure, it isn't as comfortable as a lead as OKC or the fans would prefer, but the truth is, if the Thunder win out or at the very least only lose one game to end the 2025-2026 season, they will hold on to home court going into what looks to be an incredible playoffs.
