The long wait is almost over, as tomorrow the Thunder will finally be back in action in the playoffs for Game 1 vs. the Suns.
And not to get too ahead of things before OKC's postseason even begins, but the Thunder also have a chance to do something really special this season, and that is to go back-to-back.
The NBA hasn't had a team win two straight championships since the Warriors in 2017 and 2018, but that could change if everything goes according to plan for Oklahoma City.
Today at the final practice ahead of Game 1, Ajay Mitchell gave a unique perspective on how the Thunder are attacking this postseason, taking it one ring at a time, not focusing on going back-to-back, but focused on winning the 2026 NBA Finals and bringing another ring back to OKC.
“It's a new year. We're not looking at it as defending a championship. We're looking at it as we wanna go win a championship.”
