WATCH: Sam Presti discusses when he found out about Russell Westbrook retiring

Sam Presti and Russell Westbrook will forever be connected. It is hard to talk about one's career without mentioning the other one too.

Today at Presti's annual preseason availability he was asked about his reaction to the news and how he found out about Westbrook's retirement announcement over the summer.

“Well, I was in Italy with my family, because I took my family to Italy this summer for a vacation, and that's to explore kind of some ancestry stuff because that's where my father's side of the family is from, and it was the night before we were coming home.

We were just in a van coming back from something my wife had scheduled for us. And I don't have social media, so Matt is the king of the screenshot. So I get all my news -- he sends me screenshots of things. So I got a screenshot with it, and I just -- I think I got real quiet, to be honest with you, because it hit me pretty hard. I just wasn't expecting that.”
