WATCH: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander discusses Russell Westbrook's retirement

Sometimes the passing of the torch from one franchise superstar to the next isn't smooth, but that couldn't be more true in OKC, with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander stepping up as the Thunder's franchise cornerstone after Russell Westbrook.

Today at Thunder training camp, I asked Shai about Russ retiring and their relationship.

“He's as dynamic as it comes in terms of NBA player, personality, teammate, like he's the whole package. Laid the foundation for what we stand on now. Like, part of the reason why the city is what it is is because of Russell Westbrook. He deserves all of his flowers for what he's done on and off the court.”
