Football season is right around the corner, and before fans of the Auburn Tigers know it, the first season of Alex Golesh's tenure at the helm of the program will be underway.
It has been known that Auburn's opening contest of the 2026 season will be against the Baylor Bears in the Aflac Kickoff Game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Saturday, Sept. 5, but as of Tuesday afternoon, the kickoff time and television information have been made available to the public.
The Tigers and Bears will complete the back half of their two-game series on ABC. The game will get underway at 2:30 p.m. CT.
This will be the fourth game Auburn has played in the city of Atlanta and the fourth time it has appeared in the Aflac Kickoff Game.
Auburn fell 26-19 at the hands of the Clemson Tigers to open the 2012 season, beat the Louisville Cardinals 31-24 in the 2015 season opener and picked up a 21-16 win over a top 10 Washington Huskies squad when competing in the 2018 edition of the game.
This matchup will be the sixth one ever played between Auburn and Baylor. The Tigers opened the 2025 season with a 38-24 victory over the Bears in Waco. The results of the four other contests were as follows:
- Auburn lost to Baylor 15-14 at home on Sept. 18, 1976
- Auburn tied Baylor 10-10 on the road on Sept. 20, 1975
- Baylor beat Auburn 14-8 in Auburn on Sept. 18, 1965
- Auburn beat Baylor 33-13 in Jacksonville, Florida on Dec. 31, 1954
The series is tied with each team having two victories to its name, as well as the draw.
Additional kickoff times and television information for Auburn's 2026 season will be released as the season gets closer to starting. Television windoes will be announced as well.
