But like most aspects of this game, Northwestern had a better game plan. Colorado ran it for 176 yards and 5.7 yards per carry. That is if you can ignore the penalties, turnovers and inexperience issues. There is a tiny sample size of college football games that are winnable when a team commits four turnovers. Few teams are coming back from that."}},{"id":"T87FY3vETG","type":"paragraph","data":{"text":"After two wins that involved a reasonable penalty situation, the Buffs appear to now have a penalty problem. Most of which were after the first quarter, contributing to the ballooning Northwestern lead."}},{"id":"ffbiQ0G8bd","type":"paragraph","data":{"text":"Lewis is a young quarterback, and fans will need to be patient. He'll soon be 19 with not even a full year of experience. Not to mention, he reclassified up a year and came to CU early. That means he didn't play his senior year in high school. There are very few silver linings in a 41-7 loss. However, losing a game by almost five touchdowns, this loss is still much better than these were last season. This game was still better than all four of those games."}},{"id":"gXszbuE0E2","type":"paragraph","data":{"text":"The optimistic view is that the bad is fixable. If Colorado had eliminated the turnovers and bad penalties, this would have been a much closer game. Northwestern scored four times off turnovers if you count the turnover on downs as a turnover.
