While there's excitement about Florida State legend Ernie Sims becoming the full-time linebacker coach, there's concern over his early attempts at making a run toward blue chip linebacker talent.
As of Friday morning, Florida State has only offered one four-star LB in Mikahi Allen. Noles247 even believes that FSU needs a few more LBs to round out the 2027 class.
"I do think the group they've brought in so far has lacked true star power. However, they'll have the spring to try and position themselves in a better spot with higher caliber 'backers ahead of official visit season," Zach Blostein of 247Sports wrote.
Granted, FSU officially shed the assistant tag off Sims one month ago during a time the Noles hosted Junior Day visitors. The spring will be a huge one for Sims especially with his first NCAA Spring Evaluation period as LB coach on deck.
