Ashton Daniels Denies He's QB1 Already for Florida State

Florida State lured in the former Auburn and Stanford quarterback via the transfer portal this offseason. Many around FSU believed Daniels was locked in as the starting quarterback -- given his past experience at two Power Conference universities.

Except Daniels denies he's QB1. He acknowledged that second-year QB Kevin Sperry will be competing with him this spring for the right to lead the offense.

"Anywhere you go in college football nowadays, you’re going to have to compete,” Daniels said. “Nothing is just handed to you."
