Thoughts on Katin Houser's play?
Houser had a really rough start to the game, beginning 4-for-11 for 69 yards and an interceptions. Since the 9:00 mark of the second quarter, Houser has gone 7-for-8 for 65 yards and a touchdown.
For most of the first half, Houser did not look healthy from the broken hand he suffered three weeks ago. But he definitely looked more comfortable the further he got into the game.

Did Illinois bring Houser back too early?
I think it's pretty clear that Katin Houser isn't fully healthy, and I've seen a lot of people who believe that Bret Bielema should've stuck with Michael Clayton II this week. Do you agree?

Reaction to Hauck firing?
Yes, Illinois' defense has been bad so far this season, but it's still stunning to see Bobby Hauck gone after only four games in Champaign! Do you think Bret Bielema made the right decision?

Josh Whitman = continuity
It's insane how Tony Pettiti was hired as the Big Ten's commissioner in 2023, and since then, Josh Whitman is one of only four ADs who remains in the conference. Really tells you how important it is that the Illini have him locked under contract for the foreseeable future!

Will Illinois reach the CFP?
A lot of projections I'm seeing have Illinois finishing around 9-3 or 8-4. However, not a ton of people have actually predicted the Illini to reach the College Football Playoff.
ESPN just dropped its list of 31 teams that could realistically reach the CFP and I was surprised not to see Illinois there. I think the Illini definitely have a favorable schedule, with Ohio State and Oregon being the two hardest. Illinois could absolutely find a way to beat Duke, Nebraska, UCLA and Iowa as well.
