The LSU Tigers are set to take on the Ole Miss Rebels on the road in a contentious Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.

Despite their 4-0 start and having one of the best defenses in the country, the Tigers will need their offense to step it up if they want to pull off the upset.

Here is a running thread of everything going on in the game:

    1st Quarter

    • Action before the game, LSU right tackle Weston Davis was injured during pre-game and will be replaced by Carius Curne.
    • False start on the Rebels offense creates a 3rd and 10 passing down and the Tigers defense locks up. A three and out and LSU sets the tone early.
    • An early completion to Bauer Sharp is reviewed and overturned, putting the Tigers at 2nd and 10.
    • The teams trade three-and-outs to start this game, early looks are the same as the rest of LSU's games so far.
    • The Tigers defense looks really strong so far, another three-and-out.
    • Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier finds Zavion Thomas deep and then Thomas runs it a bit further for a total gain of 52 yards. Finally, some explosiveness on that side of the ball.
    • Touchdown LSU! Nic Anderson hauls in a pass tipped by Sage Ryan for a 7-yard score. The play is under review, but looks to be good. Tigers lead 7-0.
    • Trinidad Chambliss is starting to feel it for Ole Miss. The Rebels are approaching the red zone.
    • A little bit of bend, don't break. Ole Miss gets down the field, but a batted pass forces a 4th down. Lane Kiffin opts for the 25-yard field goal. LSU leads 7-3.
    • Oxford is loud and full of upset Rebels fans after a pair of defensive flags help the Tigers drive past midfield.

    2nd Quarter

    • Poor decision-making from Nussmeier leads to an interception and the momentum slides over to the Rebels.
    • Now some good luck for LSU has a holding penalty wipes out a 13-yard run by Kewan Lacy.
    • What a break for the Tigers. Ole Miss was nearing the end zone off a 32-yard pass play as AJ Haulcy forced a fumble that was then recovered by LSU.
    • Rare immature mistake from the senior linebacker West Weeks. Rebels bailed out after what would have been 2nd and 20.
    • There are over five minutes left in the second quarter and there have been 15 flags thrown so far. Some good calls, some questionable, far too many either way.
    • Ole Miss takes the lead on a 15-yard touchdown run by Lacy. Rebels lead 10-7.
    • The Tigers offense and Nussmeier really need to find some momentum down the stretch.
    • It's not a three-and-out, but it wasn't a long drive either. The offense really needs to figure something out fast. Not only are they already behind, but the defense is gassed and is not getting any time to rest.
    • A 30-yard bomb has Ole Miss in LSU territory at the two-minute warning.
    • Two-yard touchdown pass by the Rebels. Ole Miss leads 17-7.

    3rd Quarter

    • The Tigers will begin the second half with the ball.
    • A little bit of momentum from a quick first down is wiped away be a loss of eight from a sack and LSU must punt it away.
    • The Tigers defense is back to looking good after the halftime break. The offense really needs to give them any sort of help and right now, they have been on the field all day.
    • Chris Hilton Jr. was wide open on the sideline for a touchdown, but an under-thrown ball from Nussmeier is incomplete. A pass interference penalty was called, though, so LSU gets something out of it.
    • Damian Ramos knocks the 39-yard field goal right down the middle. Ole Miss leads 17-10.
    • A massive tip-drill interception by PJ Woodland has the momentum fully in the Tigers' favor. The offense will start in Rebels territory with a chance to tie the game.
    • Ramos drills in another one, this time from 48. Ole Miss leads 17-13.
    • A nice one-handed catch gets the Rebels into LSU territory right before the end of the quarter.
    • A holding penalty backs up Ole Miss. It'll be 1st and 20 back at their own 41 to start the final quarter.

    4th Quarter

    • Tigers helped out by yet another holding penalty. It was a first down and it will now be 3rd and 18.
    • Former LSU running back Logan Diggs finds the end zone for the Rebels to make it a two-score game once again. Ole Miss leads 24-13.
