Former Tiger Hunter Goodman wraps up season with 41 home runs

The MLB regular season ended on Sunday, and former Tiger Hunter Goodman wrapped up a solid season with the Colorado Rockies. Goodman hit .245 with 41 homers, 88 RBI and five stolen bases. Goodman was a name that was talked about a lot around the trade deadline, but the Rockies decided to keep their catcher. It’s the first time he’s recorded more than 40 home runs in his young career. Goodman has been named an All-Star the last two seasons, and it will be fun to see if he can improve on those numbers next season.Sep 27, 2026

The NIL Store launches Memphis store

The NIL Store posted on Friday that the Memphis NIL Store is now live. “This is your place to find the best Memphis gear from the nation’s leader in NIL apparel,” the tweet says. “Your purchase directly benefits your favorite Tiger!” The store has apparel for all Memphis sports, including jerseys. Memphis offering no ticket fews on all remaining football tickets today

Memphis athletics is offering no fees on tickets for any remaining football game. The Tigers are labeling it “No fee Friday”, and the offer ends at 11:59 tonight. Memphis has four home games remaining this season against UAB, East Carolina, Army and Temple. They will have special themes for every game. On October 10, the Tigers will host UAB for the Battle of the Bones, and there will be a “BBQ Cookoff Contest” before the game. Two weeks later, Charles Huff team will host East Carolina in its Brest Cancer Awareness Game. On Halloween, it will be the Tiger’s Military & First Responders Appreciation night and homecoming against Army before hosting Temple for Senior Day on either November 27th or 28th.Sep 25, 2026

Memphis women’s soccer picks up a point in Tampa

Memphis women’s soccer picked up a point in a 1-1 draw Thursday night against USF. The Tigers led the Bulls 1-0 at half, but USF responded in the 52nd minute to tie the game. Abby Forsgren put Memphis on the board with a her second gaol in two matches in the 27th minute. The Tigers had another nice chance in the 35th minute, but Ellis Kelly’s shot hit the crossbar. Memphis outshot USF 25-2. It’s early in conference play, but the Tigers sit in a tie for first place with East Carolina. Both teams are 1-0-1 through through games. Brooks Monaghan’s team returns to action on Sunday for another road game against Florida Atlantic.Sep 25, 2026

Memphis basketball starts practice ahead of 2026-27 season

Memphis basketball posted pictures from its first practice on Tuesday. With the season just 41 days away, the Tigers are officially back to practice. It will be interesting to see how the team plays, especially in the non-conference slate. Penny Hardaway's team has a daunting non-conference schedule, and it will get started on November 2 against Iowa State. Memphis will play two exhibition games against Arkansas and Mississippi State, but both games will be on the road. There were rumors that Hardaway would add a third exhibition at FedExForum, but it doesn't appear it will happen. Kick time announced for Memphis’ game against Charlotte

Memphis doesn’t have a game this week, but the American conference announced game times for week 5 on Monday. The Tigers will play their first conference game on the road against Charlotte, and the game will be played at 2:30 on ESPN+. Charles Huff’s team will enter the game 3-1 following the win over UT Martin, while the 49ers will look for their first win this weekend against Louisiana. Charlotte has lost games against App State, Ole Miss and FCS member The Citadel. The 49ers opened the season with a 43-41 loss in triple overtime against the FCS opponent. Charlotte’s defense has struggled through three games, and opposing teams are averaging 36.7 points per game.Sep 21, 2026
