Memphis finds itself with just a 3 percent chance to make the College Football Playoffs following a home loss against Tulane. Here's a look at where some are predicting Memphis will land in its bowl game this season.

A week ago, the College Football Playoff Committee placed Memphis in the College Football Playoff bracket as the highest ranked group of five team, but just a week later, the Tigers find themselves with just a 3 percent chance to make the College Football Playoffs following a home loss against Tulane.

Here’s a look at where Memphis is projected to play in its bowl game after week 11:

    ESPN:

    Sheraton Hawai’i Bowl vs. Hawai’i

JLab Birmingham Bowl vs. James Madison

Memphis was set to play in the Hawai’i bowl against the Rainbow Warriors in 2021, but the game was canceled after the Hawai’i team was decimated with opt-outs and positive Covid-19 tests. This would be the first meeting between Hawai’i and Memphis in program history.

ESPN’s Kyle Bonagura projects Memphis to play James Madison in Birmingham. The Tigers have played in the Birmingham Bowl twice since 2015, but like Hawai’i, it would be the first meeting against the Dukes. James Madison is currently 8-1 on the season and ranked No. 25 in the Associated Press poll.

    CBS Sports:

    Gasparilla Bowl vs. UConn

Memphis has played UConn 4 times and lead the series 3-1. The last meeting against the Huskies came in 2018 when Memphis secured a 55-14 win at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium.

Jim Mora has turned the UConn football program, and the Huskies picked up their first bowl win since 2009 last year when they beat North Carolina in the Fenway Bowl. Mora’s team is 7-3, and they’re coming off a 3-point home win against Duke.

    The Athletic:

    Gasparilla Bowl vs. Florida State

Another outlet that projects Memphis will play their bowl game in Tampa, but this time, it’s a potential matchup against former head coach Mike Norvell and a rematch of last season’s 38-17 Tigers’ victory.

After starting the season 3-0, Florida State is 1-5 over its last six games. The Seminoles have struggled over the last two seasons, and they still need two more wins to secure bowl eligibility.

    On3:

    Fenway Bowl vs. NC State

The Fenway Bowl was a popular potential landing spot a year ago, and right now On3’s Brett McMurphy is alone forecasting Memphis to play a bowl game in the home of the Boston Red Sox.

NC State kicked off November with a 12-point win over Georgia Tech, but the Wolfpack need one more win to gain bowl eligibility.
