It surely weakens the matchup but it’s still a huge game. The ‘Canes have to adjust

Lots of folks are saying the Hurricanes aren't battle-tested. This weekend is their chance to shut up a lot of people.

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami women's basketball team opened the 2026-27 regular season with a 75-48 victory over Florida Atlantic Monday night at the Watsco Center.

Offensively, Miami was led by junior Ahnay Adams, registering a career high 21 points while shooting 8-of-10 from the field. Two other Hurricanes reached double figures in scoring, as junior Gal Raviv and sophomore Soma Okolo each contributed 11 points.

It's $3,500 a night to stay at this hotel during the weekend of Miami Hurricanes playing at Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Wow. For $8,000, I could spend a week or two Tokyo or travel all over Europe.

I still don't feel too good about this one. Here's hoping the Canes take care of business.

Junior point guard and Miami Hurricanes star Gal Raviv was named to the 2026-27 Nancy Lieberman Point Guard of the Year Award Preseason Watch List the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame announced Monday.

Raviv is one of 20 players nationally selected to the preseason watch list for the prestigious award, which recognizes the top point guard in NCAA Division I women's basketball.

While joining The Joe Rose Show, Miami Hurricanes head coach Mario Cristobal has been unpleased with the secondary’s production:

“The four three-and-outs were elite, the lapses like on the early touchdown [were] complete bulls***, “ he said. “The corners should very clearly get a signal from the sideline, be clear on assignment, and get it done. We’ve been playing well at certain spots, then we’ve had some lapses that are inexcusable.”

Another bad moment for Warren Sapp.
