True freshman point guard Jake West surprisingly didn't play in Northwestern's exhibition game against Iowa State, and we finally know why. College basketball insider Jon Rothstein reported this morning that West will also be out of tonight's match with Illinois State due to a concussion, which appears to be what held him out against the Cyclones.

The good news here is that USF transfer Jayden Reid will make his Wildcat debut after being seen in a boot at the Purdue football game and missing the Iowa State exhibition. Arrinten Page also seems to be fine after leaving against the Cyclones.
