Since the transfer portal officially opened on Jan. 2, Northwestern has earned commitments from five players:

  • OT David Anchondo (Saginaw Valley State)
  • CB Brenden Deasfernandes (Central Michigan)
  • LB Kobie McKinzie (Oklahoma)
  • EDGE Jamaal Johnson (UCF)
  • QB Aidan Chiles (Michigan St)

What do you think about the Wildcats' current incoming class of transfers? David Braun seems to largely be betting on Power Four players who are looking for one last year to prove themselves, which makes sense with the university's admissions limitations. One position I expect will be filled in the coming days is wide receiver, as NU was very thin this past year and needs more than just Griffin Wilde and Hayden Eligon II.

Are you encouraged by Northwestern's early strategy in the transfer portal? Is there another area you'd like the Wildcats to target? Let me know in the comments, and make sure to check out our official transfer portal tracker for up-to-date information on portal news:
