In today's Irish Breakdown podcast we discussed the recent proposal from the AFCA, which looks to expand the playoff to 24 teams, eliminate conference championship games, limit bye weeks during the season and also have playoff games the same day as the Army vs Navy game. While we support the elimination of the conference title games, the rest of the proposal misses the mark, and while the AFCA talked about it being about the players it was clearly not at all about players and all about boosting up coaches.

Following our discussion on the NCAA proposal we also broke down the state of the DT room at Notre Dame.

Part 1 - Ends 1:09:35

This is where we discussed the AFCA proposal.

Part 2 - Ends 1:41:34

We break down the Notre Dame DT room, with a focus on the floor for the room, the impression the transfers had on the group this spring, the emergence of some talented young players and the depth that was established.

Part 3 - Ends 2:19:47

We discuss whether or not the DT room can be a part of a championship defense or a driver. Right now it is a group that can be part of a championship defense, but if some things go right it could be a driver. We talk Jason Onye, Armel Mukam, more on the transfers and the potential of the DT room.

Part 4 - Remainder of the show

We talk DT recruiting! We break down film of David Folorunsho, Brayden Parks, Marcus Fakatou and Xavier Muhammad. We also talk where things stand with each of their recruitments and discuss the must gets in the class.
