NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah is one of the authorities when it comes to the NFL Draft. He, along with a few others, really created the industry of pre-draft evaluations, mock drafts, and everything that comes along with them.
Jeremiah is one of the most plugged-in guys in the industry, and on Tuesday, he released his Mock Draft 3.0 and, spoiler, there are Buckeyes everywhere.
Several, myself included, debated after the NFL Combine that maybe another Buckeye could slot into the second overall selection, but that will not be the case. The dust has settled, and the hype has returned to its proper place.
Arvell Reese is a guy who can change an NFL defense from game number one. The Jets have retooled their defense with a lot of veteran talent, and Reese is going to slot right into it in the perfect spot.
Jeremiah calls his shot with this one. An off-ball linebacker in the top-5? It might make a lot of sense in New York, as they have a nasty front four, and Styles might be the best pure football player in this year's draft.
Do the Giants value an off-ball linebacker enough to take him in the Top-5? If they do, they are getting a future superstar at the position.
If this happens, it will feel like an earthquake in northeast Ohio. Tate is absolutely the fan vote for the sixth pick for the Cleveland Browns. The Browns are probably a year or so off from being a contender, but pairing Tate up with former teammate Quinshon Judkins and quarterback Shedeur Sanders might be enough to get Cleveland to start winning some football games.
If this selection happens, it will feel like an earthquake in southwest Ohio. Downs is a game-changing, franchise-changing talent and could be exactly what the Bengals need in the back of their defense.
Downs' market begins earlier than 10, but if he goes to Cincinnati, the conversations are going to kick right back up about the Bengals being a contender yet again.
Kayden McDonald lands at the Ohio State East Coast campus. He would join former teammate TreVeyon Henderson and coach Mike Vrabel on a team that played in the Super Bowl just one year ago.
McDonald is in the perfect sweet spot for a great career. He is definitely a late first-round prospect and will land with a team that is ready to try and win a Super Bowl right away.
Buckeye Roundtable also offers a fan community and message board. We’d love to have you join us to talk all things Ohio State Buckeyes. Click the “Join” button at the top of the page to join our community for free.
