The Ohio State wide receiver position is a Tale of Two Cities as the Buckeyes have the best player in the entire country and then several guys who need to prove themselves behind him.

Unlike each of the past six seasons, when Ohio State has had at least two first-round picks at the WR position going into the year, the theme this year is "prove it" in that room. Now, this is absolutely not to say that there isn't some untapped potential in the group; it just is to say that there is a question mark there.

Here are the top-seven guys, as of July 28th, that are going to be in the mix.

There isn't much to say here. This is the best player in college football going into next year, and I encourage every Buckeye fan to enjoy every single one of his plays this year because it will certainly be his last one in college.

Brandon Inniss is going to get the first opportunity to earn the wide receiver two position behind Smith. Inniss has been stuck in the shadows for his entire college career, and this year, he is going to have the chance to prove that he belongs in the conversation with the Buckeyes' greats.

Inniss is definitely more of a possession receiver. So far in his career, he isn't the big-play threat, but more importantly, when it is 3rd and 6, he is the guy that the quarterback tries to find. He has just 51 catches for 505 yards and five touchdowns throughout his Ohio State career.

Parker transferred from LSU, where he played under Cortez Hankton as a Tiger. Now, he, like Hankton, made their way north to join the Ohio State program.

Parker is coming off his best season at LSU, where he hauled in 31 catches for 330 yards and five career touchdowns. He is a prototypical slot receiver who stands at 5'10" and wins at the line of scrimmage with quickness. 

Devin McCuin has the most experience of anyone in this room, to go along with the most production. He transfers to the Buckeyes from UTSA, where he put together a really solid college career to this point.

In his three years, he has appeared in 32 games and has 152 catches for 1,696 yards and 16 touchdowns. Last year, he had 65 catches for 726 yards and eight touchdowns. Against competition similar to what he will see this year, he was average. Against inferior competition, he shined. It will be very fascinating to see what he brings to the table.

This is Ohio State's prized possession. Henry Jr. is expected to be the guy who takes the Buckeyes' elite wide receiver baton. There is no reason to believe that he can't; he just needs to prove it.

Henry Jr shined in Ohio State's spring ball game and showed that he has the size, speed, and hands to compete. There are a lot of fingers crossed in Columbus hoping that he proves to be that guy.

The surprise of spring camp! Brock Boyd made one of the best first impressions that he possibly could. He doesn't have the size that Henry Jr. does, but he absolutely looks the part in everything that he does. 

He may not start at the top, but by the end of the year, don't be surprised if Boyd is making an impact. 

Ohio State's wide receiver room has the potential to be great; we just don't know how. The only sure thing is Jeremiah Smith at the top, and then after that, it will be a fight to the end.

The best man will win and it will be the most interesting battle during Training Camp.
