STILLWATER, Okla. — Oklahoma State continues to collect Big 12 recognition following its dominant Homecoming victory over Colorado.

The conference announced Monday that Cowboys cornerback LaDainian Fields was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week, while kicker Sam Keltner earned Special Teams Player of the Week honors following Oklahoma State's 57-24 victory over the Buffaloes.

The two awards bring Oklahoma State's season total to 13, the most of any team in the Big 12. For Fields, it marks his first weekly conference honor of the season. Keltner, meanwhile, continues to establish himself as one of the nation's most reliable kickers, earning his fourth Big 12 weekly award of 2026.

Fields Helps Spark Second-Half Defensive Turnaround

Oklahoma State's defense struggled during the first half against Colorado, allowing 24 points before halftime. But the Cowboys completely flipped the script in the second half, shutting out the Buffaloes over the final two quarters.

Fields played a significant role in that turnaround. The Oklahoma State cornerback recorded two interceptions, increasing his season total to four. He became the first Cowboy to intercept two passes in a game since Trey Rucker accomplished the feat against No. 12 Utah in 2024.

Both interceptions helped set up Oklahoma State scoring drives, with one giving the Cowboys possession at Colorado's nine-yard line. Fields also tied for the team lead with eight tackles, recorded 1.5 tackles for loss and added a pass breakup. Seven of his tackles limited Colorado to gains of five yards or fewer.

All three of his passes defended came in the second half, helping Oklahoma State outscore Colorado 34-0 after halftime. His performance was also recognized inside the locker room, where head coach Eric Morris presented Fields with a game ball following the victory.

Keltner Continues Historic Season

While Fields helped Oklahoma State take control defensively, Keltner made sure the Cowboys continued putting points on the scoreboard. The Oklahoma State kicker converted all five of his field-goal attempts against Colorado, matching the program's single-game record.

His successful kicks came from 21, 30, 30, 41 and 47 yards. Keltner also converted all six of his extra-point attempts, finishing the night with 21 points. The performance extended his streak of consecutive made field goals to 18, tying the Oklahoma State career record held by Matt Ammendola.

Keltner also surpassed the previous school single-season record of 17 consecutive field goals, set by Dan Bailey in 2010. Through seven games, Keltner is a perfect 18-for-18 on field goals and 28-for-28 on extra points. He currently leads the nation in field goals made, field-goal percentage and total points scored by a kicker.

Monday's recognition marks his fourth Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week award this season, following previous honors against Oregon, West Virginia and UCF. No other Big 12 player has earned more weekly awards in 2026.

Cowboys Lead the Big 12 in Weekly Recognition

The latest honors bring Oklahoma State's total to 13 conference weekly awards this season.  Quarterback Drew Mestemaker, linebacker Ethan Wesloski and Keltner have all earned multiple individual awards, while the Cowboys' offensive and defensive lines have also been recognized. Fields now joins that group following his standout performance against Colorado.

The recognition comes as Oklahoma State returns to the national rankings at No. 24 in the Associated Press Top 25.

The Cowboys improved to 5-2 overall and 3-1 in Big 12 play with Saturday's victory and will look to carry that momentum into their next conference matchup.

Oklahoma State travels to Iowa State on Saturday, October 31, with Fields, Keltner and the rest of the Cowboys aiming to build on their Homecoming success.
