Sooners Earn Verbal Commitment for Class of 2028 QB
How do you feel about OU's QB recruiting for the '26, '27, & '28 class?

After committing to Notre Dame on June 25th and decommitting from the Irish two days ago, Colts Neck (N.J.) Bergen Catholic quarterback Trey Tagliaferri has verbally committed to the Oklahoma Sooners 2028 recruiting class, according to On3.com's Hayes Fawcett and Parker Thune, also of SoonerScoop.com.
The four-star quarterback, who stands 6-2 and 190 pounds, had grown up a Notre Dame fan so when the Irish offered he jumped in with a verbal commit but six days later the decommitment came. He now becomes the only member of the Sooners 2028 recruiting class, after running back Michah Rhodes backed off his commitment following the departure of former running back coach DeMarco Murray to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Tagliaferri held offers from Notre Dame, Penn State, Alabama, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Ohio State, and Georgia among others. He joins a quarterback room that projected (way too early) would consist of Whitt Newbauer as a senior, Bowe Bentley and Jett Niu as juniors, and Jamison Roberts and Noah Smith as sophomores if none of the aforementioned do not redshirt at any point.
