Sooners Set to Host Transfer WR Thursday

Appalachian State wide receiver Davion Dozier announced Wednesday morning he is scheduled to visit Oklahoma on Thursday via a post on X (formerly Twitter).
Dozier joined the Mountaineers in December 2024 after transferring from the University of Arkansas. This season he totaled 20 receptions for 448 yards and five touchdowns with a long reception of 68 yards versus Oregon State. Versus the Beavers he totaled 4 receptions 140 yards and a touchdown for his best output of the season.
With the Razorbacks, the 6-4, 204 pound receiver redshirted in 2023 as a freshman playing in just three games and was limited to just one game played in 2024. He totaled 2 receptions and 27 yards with a touchdown in his career at Arkansas.
Dozier was a four-star recruit out of Moody, Alabama and chose Arkansas over Duke, Georgia Tech, Maryland, South Carolina, Tennessee, and others. He has two years of elibility remaining.
Dozier likely could be a value, depth addition to the Sooners roster after the departure of wide receivers Javonnie Gibson and Ivan Carreon on Tuesday along with the earlier announced departures from the receiver room of Jayden Gibson (who has committed to South Carolina), Josiah Martin, Zion Kearney, KJ Daniels, and walk-on Jakeb Snyder.
Oklahoma has added Trell Harris from Virginia and Parker Livingstone from Texas to the receiver room during the transfer portal.
