The Syracuse Orange women's basketball team was unable to pull off a massive upset and fell to the Louisville Cardinals 84-65 on Sunday.
Despite the loss, it still was an important day for the university.
Syracuse took the time at halftime to honor a history-making alum.
In front of the fans at the JMA Wireless Dome, the Orange honored class of 1968 graduate Kathrine Switzer, who, in '67, became the first woman to complete the Boston Marathon despite women not being officially allowed to race.
