Syracuse men’s lacrosse opens its season Sunday against a first-time regular-season opponent – Boston University – at the JMA Wireless Dome. Game time is 1 p.m.

The Orange start the season ranked No. 2 in the USILA Division I Preseason Coaches Poll, and the schedule makers did them no favors. Of the 20 ranked teams the poll, Syracuse has half of them on the regular-season, 15-game schedule.

That starts with No 16 Boston U., and the Orange also will face No. 1 Maryland, No. 5 Georgetown, No. 11 Duke and No. 14 Virginia on their home field.

Syracuse will travel to No. 3 Princeton, No. 6 Notre Dame, No. 8 North Carolina, No. 13 Harvard and No. 17 Johns Hopkins.
