Texas Tech head coach Krista Gerlich spoke about the signing of Nigerian C Stephanie Okechukwu, who stands at a towering 7-1 as the tallest women's college basketball player ever:
"It's been a long process, one that we've been working on very diligently, with a lot of hope and anticipation, but also a lot of caution," Gerlich told On3. "It could have fallen through the cracks at any point.
"We knew the entire time she would be worth it."
Okechukwu will have a major impact on the No. 21-ranked Lady Raiders, who are off to their best start in program history.
